What movies are like Mac 'n Cheese?

Nope, NOT movies about food/eating/mac 'n cheese per se.

But we all have our fav movies that we can watch over and again- not think too hard, just lie back, lazily cheering from the couch. These are movies that just make us FEEL GOOD, and happy and satisfied, without any huge reasons or motivations.

Which Bolly movies make you feel that way?
I want to know
, so that I can compare notes and watch 'em as well.

Here are my faves:
1- Chupke Chupke (1975)
2- Gol Maal (1979)
3- Khatta Meetha (1978)
4- The Burning Train (1980)
5- Shaan (1980)
6- Shalimar (1978)

Notice that I didnt put down "Top 5" or "Top 10"- this is a list of movies that just meant to comfort, sans pressure.

Jab We Met, without a doubt! As well as Main Hoon Na and, um (looks both ways before lowering her voice to a whisper) K3G. To quote someone else, "It's like weepy crack." I can't help myself. Someone stage an intervention.

Hmmm...off the top of my head, I would say Sanam Teri Kasam, Geraftaar, Chandni, Out of Control, Sheesha: Some Mirrors Lie, Aksar, and Zeher.

Nice choices!

I'll put Jab We Met, Dilwaale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, Yes Boss, Raja Jani, Chaalbaaz(I prefer this one to Sita Aur Geeta just coz of Rajnikant and the famous, "Aaj Sunday hai, toh din mein daaru peene ka day hai"),Nagina(don't laugh), Mr. India, Yaadon Ki Baarat, Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani, Humse Hai Muqabla(Oh my god! This movie makes me laugh so hard, even with so much drama going on!) I doubt you haven't seen any of the aforementioned.

Shaan is all kinds of amazing! ♥

This is hard. :( I have so many faves. But to fit the description.....

Seeta Aur Geeta (1972), Star (1982), Karate (1983), Love 86 (1998) Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya (1998)

Maybe Karate shouldn't be on there? It does require thinking, lol. And maybe Seeta Aur Geeta too?

First of all, I love this post idea!:) Am grabbing some of these for my list to watch!:)

Well, in my limited list of Hindi films, I would say...

*Kuch Kuch Hota Hai
*Jab We Met
*Jodhaa Akbar(I'm not sure if this is "comfort food" material for anyone else, but for me it sure is because I loved the love story)
*Kal Ho Naa Ho(sad but I love it)
*Shree 420
*Dil Chata Hai

Haven't seen most of the ones everyone is mentioning...so I guess I need to get going and start watching!

4. Blackmail (1973)
5. Prem Patra (1962)
6. Parineeta (1953 and 2005)
7. Andaz Apna Apna (1994)

and so many more that I cant recall right now....

Awesome oldies listed there, Shweta! I think my "comfort watching" overlaps with "favourites" quite a lot.

Hum Tum, Dil Chahta Hai, Seeta aur Geeta, Hum Hai Rahi Pyar Ke, Main Khiladi Tu Anari (um, my non-guilty guilty pleasure #1)..

First half of DDLJ and then the comedic loveliness from these Southie films: Dum Dum Dum, Dhool, Anniyan, Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana, Aata.

Can I name Chupke Chupke twice? :-)

My list would be: Chupke Chupke, Sholay, Golmaal. If we're counting only Hindi films, that is. Jab We Met is climbing the charts.
