I hope you have a fantastic year ahead! How were your new year celebrations?
I cooked all day: dal makhani, roasted vegetables, stuffed eggplant, dahi badas and some honestly fantabulous rum cake.
Fed the 8 family members who came by dinner, went to the Disney fireworks (for the first time after having lived here for years- oh I'm so damned negligent!) and drank Merlot with the aunts and husband till 1am, while watching Joy Mukherjee in the insane Puruskar.
Woke with a terrific hangover and traipsed to India town Udipi, then home for a Harry Potter marathon before hiking to Mt. San Jacinto tomorrow morning.
Therefore the Puruskar post must wait. Until then- happy partying and drive safe every one!

Wheeee! Will you be showing us the rum cake on your food blog (since I already know your dal makhani :) )?
I will! Gosh it turned out so yum- wish u and the entire blogging community were here eating :)
I spent most of 31st cooking too. But hey, what the heck, love it. I do envy you your family which actually watched 'Puruskar' with you on New Year's Eve. Dhanno and Teja just laugh at me when I switch on an oldie. A happy new year to you.
Happy New Years!
Alright, when I'm in town, you're cooking. :)

Happy 2009!
Happy new year Shweta! I took your advice and had myself a little tipple. Weeeeeeeeell, or two or three. It's winter after all!
Oh! I love dal makhani! And rum cake!
But I'm buried under the snow. Can't wait to read about Puruskar---is it a film I need to own? :-)
Banno: Cooking is so therapeutic, no? Re movie watch; The hubby was too affected by the Merlot to protest, and the rest of the family I conned into watching :D
Bollyfan & Nicki: Anytime- just gimme a holler and come on over! Happy 09!
PPCC: Hapy 09 to u too!
Amrita: Heeh- let the celebrations continue!
Memsaab: The review is coming up as soon as I can recover from my hike (ouch)- and the rum cake recipe soon after, I promise :D
